Gap in Nature

I spent my childhood during the war, a period that left many questions unanswered. Later, trying to understand those experiences brought me back to images of war and their effects on the mind. *Gap in Nature* emerged from this encounter: an exploration of fear that does not necessarily end when an event is over.

In this series, I superimpose images to create an uneasy relationship between them. The presence of aircraft and fighter jets alongside nature turns the landscape into a space charged with threat. For me, the gap refers both to the potential destruction of nature and to the rupture these images create in our sense of security and our perception of the world.

Superimposing images offers a way of approaching a mind that cannot easily separate what it has seen from what it fears. At this stage of my practice, my focus is on the collision of images and the tension arising from their simultaneous presence—an attempt to give form to an unease I found difficult to express directly.
